The Myth:
The golden ratio appears frequently in nature, and is determines much about the growth of plants.
The Reality:
This is, in some sense, true. An important caution is worth noting however, namely that the pervasiveness of the golden ratio and, more commonly, the Fibonacci numbers may actually be an extensive case of selectivity bias.
